So on Pakpassion I am having this argument that Eng, Aus and Indian fans will pick Babar-Rizwan over Rahul, Hales, And Finch for their T 20 side the Bab-Riz haters over there are calling me deluded so let's do this experiment

If you are England fan and choose Babar/Rizwan over Hales write

Babar/Rizwan > Hales - English Fan or if you chose Hales write Hales > Babar/Rizwan-English fan

Ditto for Finch and Rahul with Indian and Aus fans

I will chk in 24 hours where we stand.

Just point them towards Babar's stats as opener in SENA countries. Of course they'll take him. Playing in UAE doesn't help his strike rate.

Smaller sample for Riz.

I'm sorry, but if you think England/Aus/India will pick Babar or Rizwan, then I'm afraid you are the deluded one.

Those players are both Pakistani. They aren't eligible for those other teams.

(Seriously though, are Babar/Rizwan genuinely unpopular with Pakistani fans? They're both quite clearly better than the other players you named.)

Shouldn't be a problem for England. They can just fast track their citizenship and bend the eligibility criteria.

Whatever it takes!!!
I mean, it stands to reason. Why would you want to pick the 2 best openers in the world in the format for your side when you can pick lesser ones?

TBF, I would rather pick Rizwan than Babar and pair him up with a hitter opener. Rohit + Rizwan >> Rohit + Rahul.

I've been following that argument on-and-off for months and it's ****ing insane. They couldn't see the truth in front of them if it punched them in the nose. The hate for Rizwan is just so removed from reality (and yes, I'd take him over Finch right now in a heartbeat, though that's not actually saying much).

So many posters there have a tenuous, Migara-like connection to reality. Especially the self-styled authorities on fast bowling. I'd like to have it put with them, but don't know any Hindustani (ed: linguistically speaking) to have a proper argument with.

I think we established a while back that it is not a great term to refer to India.

To be fair I have had fair share of cricketing arguments with Desi uncles or Afridi is the best brigade both online as well as in real life but the share stupidity of this Rizwan-Babar are bad for Pakistan is getting to me more then it should now they are not perfect and occasionally their conservative approach can overcook a batting effort re Rizwan approach in Asia cup final but to blame them for all off Pakistan batting woes due to selfish batting is literally the height of delusion there is very vocal minority who believes there is some mythical creature in domestics who will come in and start striking at 200 odd and the Babar-Rizwan combo is blocking their entry is some next level stupidity.

The language is Hindi... the "-stan" literally means place.
It's a generic term used for the language of which the two formal registers are Hindi and Urdu. Old fashioned term since partition, and somewhat un-PC now, but in an informal, latin-transcribed context it's hardy appropriate to alight on one or the other.

Same situation as Serbo-Croatian where the same language has two formal registers with different writing systems and the resultant divisions are due to that and religion rather than language.
