Why is that
I just think Lloyd and Kanhai were better batsmen. Kanhai was all conditional, Great in tough English tracks and has those high praises, and Lloyd is legit ATG in Australia and India and Great pretty much everywhere bar NZ and Pakistan. Greenidge I think was more restricted, and him being legitimate scared to open in Australia 75 isn't something I am a fan of. He's definitely close to them, but a clear 3rd for me.

He was 21 years old and yet to cement himself at the top level. Not sure that should take something away from the accomplishments that were to follow.

Not much, but not the attitude I like. Viv was also a youngster just in the team. Also, I find Lloyd and Kanhai's records just superior overall

I don't think that 'attitude' stuck with him throughout his career or even for any longer. Fair enough if that's your view.

I think his record in Australia and against Pakistan is underwhelming a fair bit. Nothing like that for Kanhai, and I rate Lloyd's runs in Australia and India higher than his in England and NZ.

His record in Australia is his weakest point. The tour in 1984/85 was a big miss.

It's an indication of how close these blokes are that out of 16 voters, seven think Kanhai was the best of them and six think he was the worst, with only three in between.
