For some reason the main index of the forum is bugged. This is despite everything else working fine on the site. Help?

We did have some issues following the maintenance earlier today, but it should all be ok now.

Hi Morgie, what problem are you having?
When I click on the main index, it says "page not found" and for a moment before that a whole lot of jibberish.

Initially I thought it had something to do with the forum itself.

Is it still happening now? Could you give me a screenshot?

I'm getting it too James, works fine on my phone but on my laptop using the latest version of Firefox I'm getting a bunch of characters and then a blank white page with 'Page not found' in plain writing. The URL it ends up on is 'cricketweb.net/forum/. $uredir .'

this is only happening on the forum ftr, not the homepage of cricketweb.

so it's working in internet explorer.

http://puu.sh/ddG4B/f353df0bb1.png - that's what happens when I first go to cricketweb.net/forum

http://puu.sh/ddG66/f20c28bc05.png - after about half a second it redirects to this, note the change in URL.

clearing cookies did nothing btw.

going to the forum in a private window in Firefox works perfectly...could be the cache or the fact I'm logged in maybe?

edit: yeah clear your cache Morgie, did the trick.

Thanks for that ajdude. Are you able to tell me how to recreate this issue? I've tried within Firefox, IE, Chrome and and I can't manage to re-create it.

Is it when you click a certain link within the site? Is there a difference if you go www.cricketweb.net/forum/ or http://cricketweb.net/forum/ ? Do you know when this started?

Have absolutely no idea, I hadn't been on for a couple of hours and as far as I remember it was fine before that, only noticed it around when I made that first post (edit: actually nah I remember it was happening before it, probably since around 1-2 AEDT). My bookmark to cricketweb is http://cricketweb.net/forum/, I didn't try with the www. but I'd imagine it would've been the same. It was happening on any page on the forum (tried cricket chat, going directly to threads etc). Clearing the cache fixed it and it hasn't occurred since. Beats me what happened haha

The CW hosts were upgrading various system components for us today and broke a few things along the way. Perhaps your cache got caught up in that mess.

Good to hear its ok now.

Thanks for posting back :)

The first link doesn't work but the second link does for me.

Tried restarting my browser and clearing my cookies too.

did you clear your cache?

something that's just been cleared up for me actually; the URL without the www (which is the one I always use) always shows me as not logged in on the home page of the forum but I'm logged in when I go to another page. the URL with the www doesn't have that problem, interesting

No idea if this is related to the upgrade. But when I make a new post, it's posting without any of my line breaks

So everything bunched into one

(testing)

EDIT - okay appears to have resolved itself with that post

I thought this was going to be about how we can make the front page a better one for a new-comer (Sorry James.....). My suggestion ~> Have it redirect to cc

I've been getting loads of different messages of this type all day. Pretty much occurs whenever I refresh a page or make a post.
