Had them on the ropes and completely let them off the hook again.

This team is so bloody frustrating. I’m not enamoured with Lees as captain at all.

Cheating umpire. That was plumb

Obviously scared to give him out so Hameed can get his double century.

407 all out.

Canny call at the toss Alex. Putting them in and watching them rack up 400. :pokey:
If you win the toss and bowl first you more or less HAVE to bowl a team out on the first day. We’ve managed to achieve that and yet still ended up in a massively unfavourable position.

Tough call to blame Lees though, it wasn’t him sending down multiple four balls every single over. It’s arguably the worst I’ve seen Durham bowl as a collective in terms of haemorrhaging runs, never seen such ill-discipline with regards to tight/probing lines. Even Rainey was scattergun.

Don’t get me started on the tactics during that ninth wicket stand. I could tell from the first over they bowled after getting Lord it was going to be vile.

If it’s possible to score an ugly double ton, Hameed did it. Shades of Key at Canterbury in 2009 - we won that one, hopefully the omens are good.

Join the gang. Lees is an excellent opener and one of the best we've had but he is definitely no captain - that was crystal clear when he became the white ball skipper. Perhaps the role of red ball captain was what was required to get him to stay at the club?

His decision making at the Warwicks home game was some of the worst I've seen since since the days of Roseberry - bordering on clueless. I was at a funeral yesterday morning so missed the first session but I couldn't believe it when I saw he had put them in and while we did well to get back into the game in the afternoon the final session was dreadful.

And the captaincy appears to be affecting his batting as well.
