I like the ideas of Kearsley and Halsey most.

Regarding the 'rookie draft' idea some have had: Can you clarify on what would be the definition of a rookie when it's the end of a full season? Surely anyone who started the season is no longer a rookie, as, well, they've finished their rookie season. Also, it would be very difficult for it to be just rookies given that CW Colts has a hell of a lot more rookies than any other team, meaning that we can't just simply take turns in picking out players.

Again for those reasons I feel that Kearsley and Halsey have better ideas. Halsey's has the best potential, at the moment, given that it ensures that the teams will be evenly sized prior to the draft, meaning the draft will be able to go ahead in a much fairer fashion.

Wouldn't a rookie be someone that signed up after the last 1/4, i still classify myself as a rookie even though i signed up before the end of last season. But next season i would not be a rookie like most of your teammates.

What exactly happens to the Colts players after their first season? Do they stay with the Colts or do they get spread out through the other sides and let the next bench of Colts take their place?

This is why I never really agreed with calling them the Colts. If they were CW Yellow, they would be just like any other side and this issue wouldnt have to be raised. It will seem a bit silly having a whole side of 5 season veterans playing for the Colts, which will eventually happen if they are treated as per the other sides...

I think i'd be easier if all new signups, and anyone wanting to, were put in the draft, but no one who didn't accept it.

Colts in Sri Lanka IRL have veterans, there has never been a issue. The name given to a club isn't really that big of a deal is it?

There are a bunch of teams called Colts that have been around for a long time in their respective sports. I don't know of any team called the "Yellows" despite there being a lot of "Reds" and "Blues" - this is mainly because Yellow is another word for 'Cowardly' and I again say that I'd rather not be labelled CW Yellow.

Possible definition of a rookie - someone who is either a new player or has played under 10 (in both FC & OD) games and signed up as late as the previous season.

Also - anyone else should be able to nominate to go into the draft. And maybe - those who fall under the second category are able to choose whether they go into the draft (though I see very few going into the draft through this way)

Rookie should be classed as under 10 games including both forms. For eg. If you've played 7 5D games and 2 1D games you're classed as a rookie. But if you've played 6 5D games and 6 1D games you're not.

The problem there is that WCC players aren't real people. In CW cricket, if you axe 10 players, that's 10 players that may not necessarily want to leave. That stirs up arguments, confusion and the wrong kind of rivalry.
True that, I'm a Red now, and plan on being a Red until my retirement in 991 seasons. If anyone tries to move me out of Red they'll have to prise my cold dead fingers from the clubhouse.

Yeah, that's what I said.. if you've played 10 all up, regardless of what form, you're not a rookie...

no i think 20 all up would be a better definition of a rookie

umm a draft would be fun, but for those who are happy with their teams and teammates i dont think it would be so good - it would certainly shake things up heaps though which might end Green dominance :(

An optional draft would be the best way to go. If you arent happy with your team or you simply think you'd have a better chance of playing elsewhere, you enter the draft. If you want to stay put, then you stay put.

Hypothetical situation...
Team A: 1 person chooses to leave.
Teams B, C and D: 5 people choose to leave.
Team E: 10 people choose to leave.

How does the draft work in this kind of situation?

At this rate i might not play 20 games for a couple seasons, does that mean i will be a rookie for two/three seasons.

Team E gets the first 5 picks of the draft, then B and E alternate for 4 rounds, then B, E and A all alternate for the last round.

In other words:

E
E
E
E
E
B
E
B
E
B
E
B
E
A
B
E
