As a bowler:- Lillee
As an overall cricketer:- Lillee

So yeah, Lillee. No reason to vote Ashwin here imo.

I mean, Ashwin might be one of top 3/4 greatest bowlers at home of all time.
Shouldn’t Ashwin get your vote then?

Lillee did not play(or refused to play depending on who you ask) outside Aus/Eng/NZ. Ash was just not good outside of Ind/SL/WI.

I've more faith in Lillee succeeding in India then Ashwin did in SENA, plus he was just flat out better on flatter wickets which is the common point between spinner and pacer, third I'd argue performance in England is above performance in 2010s Windies considering how poor their batting has been.

I'd also count peer ratings.

Lillee was better but Ashwin had higher output due to the pitches and windies batters being trash.
If our spinners do well in India, credit is given to pitches

If fast bowlers do well in Aus/Eng, credit is given to the bowlers.

Been watching cricket for 3+ decades and same thing is repeated again and again

Because the fast bowler who does great in AUS also does great at home. Ashwin was arguably trash in SENA.

Eng is fair as 70s England was indeed hard after 60s was easy, Aus isn't because Aus often has a lot of flat pitches to score massive runs on, pacers are just better on flatter wickets, it's not even something @sayon basak would be able to refute.
