Delhi vs Rest of India

ret

International Debutant
This game is probably as good as an international test with ROI boasting almost a regular Indian line-up and Delhi having some key national players, along with those who wish to play for India

The game will also show how prepared the Indian squad is for the series against Australia. The important question is what if the old guns in ROI fail to deliver [once again] or if the ROI go on to lose to Delhi [which is a likely option] then will the selectors make appropriate changes to the test squad? If ROI struggles against Delhi, it wouldn't surprise anyone as to why SA and SL did well against this line up

If the old guns don't deliver and if they are again persisted for the series against Australia with then I hope that Banglore turns out to be their graveyard as Banglore has not been a nice venue for India with Ind losing 4 and drawing 2 of its last 6 tests there

Good luck to both the teams .... Won't be surprised if Delhi shines

day 1

ROI 252
Del 21/0

don't know how good 252 is on that pitch so will have to wait for Delhi to finish batting to judge whether this was another collapse by ROI [mostly Indian test team] .... good to see Dravid open in this one and ROI play with 5 bowlers. playing 5 bowlers [and thus playing 5 good in-form batsmen and no passengers] is something that the Indian test team has to do more frequently when playing on most pitches in India

Munaf's good form continues .... 4/31 .... don't understand why RP opened the bowling with Zak. Munaf should have got the new ball

and it's a nice opportunity for Dravid and Badri to impress

Day 2
ROI - 252 and 99/1 [lead by 174 runs]
Delhi - 177

Day 3 stumps - Delhi needs 265 to win with 7 wkts in hand

This is turning out to be a good game especially for the bowlers. Good to see some good performances by Ishant and Nanda for Delhi and Zak and Munaf for ROI

Dhoni did well with the bat for ROI to give it a good score, while Gambhir is still batting for Delhi

For the bowling, i think performances by Ishant and Nanda shine as they are bowling at a Test line up. I hope that the selectors take a note of Nanda's performances

who are the 5 best bowlers from the game so far? From the scorecard, I would say Ishant, Zak, Munaf, Nanda and may be Bhajji

ROI wins!!!! I guess, now there won't be that many surprises for team team selection against Australia

from the Del side ----> Nanda was impressive in the game, esp when we consider that he bowled to an Indian line-up, so I hope that selectors give him a look in .... Gambhir, Sehwag and Ishant would be in

from ROI ----> Dravid earns himself another chance, Dhoni looked solid, Badri did well, Zak would be in, so would be Bhajji and Kumble being the captain .... Munaf bowled a match-turning spell in the first innings so I guess chances are that he would make it to the squad too as the 3rd seamer
