He wasn't vulnerable to bounce generally but a really well directed bouncer with high pace could get him in trouble and I saw that throughout his career, against Lee, Shoaib, Johnson, even Sreesanth once.

Not an issue for ABD because ABD was better at pulling or hooking these balls.

ABD was weak to slight nip backers from a good length especially if it was scrambled- oh, "wobble" seam.

Kallis wins as a better bat for me for his home record and batting up the order. Otherwise qualitywise I suspect ABD was better.

So AB was better against pace, better against spin, and had better concentration too? That basically covers everything a Test batter needs, right? And yet somehow Kallis ended up as the better Test batter. Fascinating stuff. I must be missing some secret category where Kallis was scoring all those runs. I even voted for AB in the poll and agree he was a bit better than Kallis against high pace, but I do think Kallis was slightly better against spin, but that’s another topic. Still trying to wrap my head around how that works.

I explained above. Kallis batted up the order. He has an unparalleled record at home. And he was better against medium pace.

Reasons I have him ahead of ABD. But ABD in terms of skill was better for me.
