Another impressive thing about Bumrah is that he finds ways to keep runs down when he is not in good wicket taking form. In the recent series against England, he really wasn't at his best and had to bowl on a really flat wicket in the first 2 days of the series. Yet, averaged around 32.

10 wicket hauls are a function of many things. Bowling support, rain ruining your good form etc. Joel Garner, an unquestionable ATG never had a 10 wicket haul, and he always had 2-3 other great bowlers to share the spoil.
Bumrah had some good bowling support as well. He is yet to prove that he is as destructive at his best as some of the Pakistan bowlers, but he doesn't go for a lot of runs when he is not in red hot rhythm(like Waqar for instance).
Even if he ends up with no 10 wicket hauls by the end of his career, I wouldn't hold it against him.

If we look at the consensus greats, Wasim, Imran, Waqar, Shoaib, Ishant...they all got 10fers. How long until Bumrah fixes this?
He could take as long as Kallis took to score a double ton. What matters is if he carries on with the promise he has shown so far.

Bumrah's average would be near Sub 20 if India could catch for ****. Had 10+ catches dropped off him in 3 matches he played in the 2021 border Gavaskar series and still took his poles @29.
If you took away dropped catches all bowlers averages would drop significantly

It was actually 5 catches ftr, including a very, very tough backward running one. 3 in the first innings of Adelaide and 2 in the 3rd innings of Sydney. It was a series with 25-30 dropped catches so most bowlers who played 3-4 tests ended up having a fair few dropped.

Yeah the catching on display was shocking, Green at gully aside.

Doof. Just realised I have not installed gimp since my last rebuild. Couldn't find it at first, then realised I was searching for GIMH.

Talk about a checkered history. If Sabbir was from England or Aus he'd have been banned for life several times by now
