not any better tbh, no matter what i seem to do the batsman just defends it, presumably its a problem with my timing but its pretty stupid that they would make a demo so hard to get into. Not impressed at all
I had that problem, but I tried choosing the direction before the ball was bowled and pressing the relevant button S/D/W button after the ball is bowled.

Probably a stupid question but what's .gob
.gob is the file that all the game data is compressed into. For cricket2004 it was cricket_pc.gob and was 800MB.
The C2k5 one seems to contain data from Cricket2002, Cricket2004 and Rugby2005 (!) although we won't know if the C2k2 configs are actually being used til we see the final release.

I won the match for England but still it came England need 8 runs to win(see screenshot)

The stange thing which happened after I clicked resume was I bowled as Clerke.

But I could bowl only 1 ball & the game crashed(is it because of FRAPS???)

From the one ball I bowled:
bowling seems to be different from cricket 2004.I could see yellow arrows to the left of the screen above the bowler meter.I think it is to select the type of delevery. The ball marker(the circle) dosen't move that fast before it is fixed.
Someone else try winning the game & see if this happens.

I didnt play it i heard it from planetcricket so i posted it here

The demo seems to let you bowl sometimes but then usually crashes...
Anyhow I've made an unofficial patch for the demo with the Natwest stumps, pitch ad and Woodworm Torch for Pieterson.

The only shot I've perfected after a couple of tries in the 15 mins since I DL'd it is the swipe over square leg for six. Granted, it's one of Pietersen's better areas, but when I can't seem just push the ball off the front foot without playing all over it, but i can tonk it to that one area regardless of line and length, you'll forgive me for being skeptical about the quality of the game engine. Does make it easy, if not terribly stimulating.

Also, another in the long line of cricket games that ****s up the stats. Look at the australian scorecard, Gilchrist, 45 off 86? McGrath 1/67? Granted, both are technically feasible, but in the same game, not to mention the batting performance of their middle/lower order. Katich hits 7 boundaries for 28 in the middle overs of an ODI? None of it seemed really convincing. It does seem that some of the scorecard is inspired by the Poms' recent win though, especially after I've gotten Pietersen to hit 4 sixes to win it..

has anyone else noticed that when a batsman gets out and the two batters cross. The new batsman is on strike and its as if they hadnt crossed at all. If that makes any sense.

Yep, noticed that. It's one of fairly few gameplay bugs though, which is a good sign.

I like this one. Looking forward to the BLIC demo so I can compare them.

Also the lbw decisions are fairly dodgey. If u dont play a shot ie press the leave button and the ball doesnt hit u on the full but is going to hit the stumps ,u get given not out. ?? However if it hits you on the full when your in line with the stumps its out.... Pretty inconsistent. Also when running between the wickets if u cancel a run and your failry close to the end in which u came from the batsman will not slide the bat until u are past the crease meaning that 9 times out of 10 u will get run out.

Anyone know how to dive to the crease when running between the wickets? I heard somewhere it can be done?

That link is my new field settings. It's actually two pages back for the expander (such as it is).
Any developments with regard to getting a bowl, or getting a bat against bowlers other than Symonds and Clarke? Would be interested in seeing how the rest of the game plays.

Prakash posted a bowling patch but the game crashes after a few balls. I've had no luck changing the bowlers despite trying numerous things that should have worked...
