McKay has been quite expensive and only taken 1 wicket in his two outings, while Elliott averages 4.5 and has an E/R of 10.5 so both of these players are being replaced for the final must-win match.

I won the toss and batted. McCullum and Ryder both fell early to Steyn but Taylor and Guptill got a good partnership going together to help us recover from our poor start. Guptill was out for 34 from 54 but he had been valuable in shoring up the batting after the early losses. Broom came and went, adding further fuel to why he should be dropped and forgotten completely. Taylor made a typically gritty half-century, and was ably supported by Styris who also reached his half-century. When the batting powerplay came however, Franklin, Oram and Vettori all fell quickly trying to increase the run rate. We were eventually all out for the below par score of 198 from 46.5 overs. The bowlers were never going to be able to defend this, and South Africa chased it down with ease, reaching the target in the 34th over for the loss of only one wicket. This last match was a shock back to reality after our win in the first match. We have one T20 match left in the tour to save some face.

Pitch is supposed to be a bit better for spin than pace so N McCullum comes into the side

We got off to a pretty good start with Franklin striking twice and Mills once to have them at 72-3 after 8 overs. Vettori dried up runs in the middle period, but in the last few overs Albie Morkel smashed Franklin and Tuffey around to finish with 65 from 29 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Once Steyn removed both Ryder and Guptill early we had no chance of reaching the total. McCullum and Taylor rebuilt the innings but were much too slow. Broom and Styris had nice cameos but we were never going to chase down 200.
