I agree - Aus fans had high hopes for Green and he’s been a relative disaster. India fans had extraordinarily low expectations from Thakur and they have often been met

Thakur’s had a better career so far. You’d back Green in the long run though.

Thakur has also had a better game than Green today. He didn’t have the opportunity to bad and has *only* gone for 8.75 runs per over

Cameron Green is only 24 , he's an investment that will pay off , too much raw materials to work with he will come good .

Green more disappointing so far, Thakur more bad.

Young allrounders do often take far more patience than the Australian public are comfortable with to develop though.

Green's been fine tbh, we don't need to mr_mister about it. He's underperformed with bat and ball in tests but a 33–36 all-rounder, when you add godly fielding, is perfectly acceptable and non-Big3-and-NZ teams would be happy with it. It's not like Australia have a better bat in the wings either.

Then why is he worse than Thakur
With the ball yes he is not better than Thakur , but he bats in the top 6 and in ODI cricket he is averaging 41 with the bat and even then he hasn't fulfilled half his potential ..All rounders need time, the more you throw them in the deep end and keep them there, the better they will become .
