ca cup and marc cups reports

TN boys are in high hopes of entering the finals for the first time after their consistent match winning performances over the last couple of months. Despite their top-order batsman Sharath's failure, they grabbed the victory thanks to some brilliant performance from Badani. Manager is somewhat disappointed with the allrounder Robin Singh's performance and so has included another allrounder to the team to strengthen its line-up in both the departments. He adds that the team has studied the performance of yorks, the underdogs, in recent times and is considering their next match to be an interesting one.
TN State Sports minister had earlier called upon the manager and captain to wish them good luck on their forth-coming matches and offered some generous compensation only if they lift the CA cup.
looks to be a promising affair.

Well the South Australians travelled to England to participate in the Marc Cup, the aim for manager Goff was to give the reserve players a run and see if he could find any talent...
In the 1st game a 2nd string SA captained by 1st teamer M.Miller took on the hosts Warwickshire, and it was the depth of the SA bowling which let the visitors down... SA only managing to pick up 4 wickets as Warwicks amassed a very good total of 4/264....
In Reply the SA boys fought hard with good performances from Adcock Miller and Higgins, placing them in a winning position, but the loos of 5 wickets for only 16 runs halted the progress and SA eventually fell 25 runs short fininshing at 8 for 239....

The next match again saw a majority of reserves take the feild against arch Rivals Kent, although Blewett, Gillespie and Davies were called up to get some form behind them....
Kent batted 1st and despite a sparkling century from opener Banes Kent struggled to pass the 200 mark eventually being bowled out for 223, with Gillepie destroying the Kent line-up taking brilliant figures of 5/18 from 9 overs...
In reply SA again had their stars as this time Johnson, Manou and again Adcock, peformed well in helping SA pass the Kent total with 4 wickets in hand and 5 overs to spare....

The final match was against the leaders in WA, and a win by SA could have seen them jump into 1st providing their NRR was good...
This game saw the bulk of the SA 1st team take the field with only Blewett, Gillespie and Davies not there....
WA batted 1st and a good display from the SA bowlers saw WA bowled out in the 48th over for only 238...
SA using 8 bowlers with Haritty taking 3/54 and Young 2/7 the standouts...
So a chance for SA, and when Fitzgerald and Lehmann took the score to 1/213 the SA were a huge chance of securing the Marc Cup, but a brain explosion from the SA batsman saw 5 players run out as SA crumbled to be all out for 236... A dissapointing result for SA which included 6 ducks...
Overall Manager Brendon Goff was happy with the performances of his troops, and when asked who impressed the most Goff had no hesitation in giving the name of Nathan Adcock, Goff stating that he could have just won himself a spot in the 1st team....

The team to travel to Tasmania will be announced later in the week.....

Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you are trying to tell us that after a first wicket of 213, SA managed to lose their next 9 wickets for just 23

yeah very very embarrasing....
But the good thing was that they got themselves out, it wasn't the bowlers.....

I was very happy with the teams overall performance during the Marc Cup. Very impressed with the bowlers and big name batters starting to stand up. One thing impressed me was the fielding with I think 10 run outs from our team over the whole cup. Congrats to the South Australia team who put up a good fight against us but we witheld the pressure. the team is eager to reface the strong mumbai team and feel they can win.Thats all for now
