a thread to celebrate the bowlers who only ever registered one 50 in their career. the statsguru link is: https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...al1=fifty_plus;template=results;type=allround

the above link will be updated as more bowlers join this club, and perhaps one or two of them leave it (looking at you Gus Atkinson). [the current version of this list should live on in this link]

Muralidaran - 67

Anderson 81

McGrath 61

Waqar only has a 45. Srinath scored four 50's, which was terribly short-sighted of him because now he will be banished to dustbin of history

if we were to create a Mount Rushmore of bowlers who only scored the one 50, clearly Yasir Shah & Agarkar would be two of the four heads. but who are the other two? Alex Tudor's 99* perhaps?

I went to the Agarkar century game, tickets were cheap because England were about to win, so I’m grateful for his heroic knock giving me more cricket to watch! I’m sure you can forgive kid me for thinking he was the second coming of Kapil Dev!

Mark Wood has one test 50 from his 37 tests and it is difficult to see him playing too many more. He scored 52 against NZ back in 2018. He's scored quite a few 30+ scores for someone who is a no9 or 10 (7).

they're the big two. facts are facts

Daryl Tuffey - 80* v Pakistan in 2009.
But he was cruelly stranded on 47* in his final test in 2010.
a problem I've had so far is finding footage of the Kiwi bowlers and their 50's. I've struck out on Boult, Wagner and Tuffey. not sure if I'm being geoblocked or if there's just no uploads

based on how Australia bowled to him in the last Ashes, if he plays even one test in the Ashes he'll get a 50

He's been a reasonable shot playing tail ender. I'm not convinced he will be going on tour, he probably has to get through two FC games unscathed.
