Boneheaded decisions by Cricket Australia

Justo

U19 Debutant
Let's add cancelling the Bangladesh Tour of Australia after banning Smith, Warner and Bancroft for "money" reasons. This tour would have given an opportunity for the weaker Australian line up to get some experience/confidence under their belt. Would have also provided a better opportunity to experiment (Finch opening) before the Indian series.

While Australia would have likely lost the Indian series regardless the selectors may have moved on from Finch and co sooner and could have potentially seen Patterson, Burns etc. come in at the back end of the Indian series.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Reality is that Australia can’t hope to be the number 1 nation forever as they’re competing against countries who love the game with massive populations and rapidly expanding economies

However, we’re not helping ourselves either

I won’t bother talking about free to air exposure as others have talked about it

As the father of a young son, I can tell you that pathways are rubbish

They’re under funded and ignore the fact that kids develop at different ages

Most importantly, it diminishes the significance of grade

NSW selections are a prime example

Jack Edwards

Really?
