It would be fair to say Headley faced the best available in 1933 and 1939. Frankly if Australia won a series in England now with most of their best bowlers missing I wouldn't care less and take the win without another thought. as the saying goes you can only play what's in front of you.
I mean, obviously you can only play who’s in front of you but it is fair play to call out a weakened attack, even if its just based on who is/isn’t available. For example, if Cummins missed the Ashes because he knocked up his wife again and Root had a good tour, people would rightly mention that it was a weakened attack.

That's true. I guess I'm just a little shameless in that while admitting the circumstances I'd happily take the win. Though if it was my team that was undermanned I wouldn't begrudge the opposition their success - I'd just think we have a capacity to get them back at full strength.

Awfully confident considering England have had to fight from behind the last two Ashes to even draw.
All that matters is the bottomline, how we got there is completely irrelevant to me, though if they didn't win on wickets that suited them (2023) and against the worst English team since the second world war (2019), best of luck in 2027.

Arguably if not for luck they would have won both Ashes.

2023 England gave them a headstart by not picking Woakes for the first two Tests. And then Aus were lucky to escape with a draw in the 5th due to rain.

In 2019 Aus should have won, they were the stronger side. Seemed happy to have retained the Ashes and played below their best in the 5th when there was a series win at stake.
