Best Test Captain amongst the BABs
Smith is disqualified for leading his country to pure disgrace with the sandpaper gate.Smith. Winner mindset.
Was Hutton that good?Don't see any real competition here for Hutton, at all.
Exactly. Winner mindset. He risked it all.Smith is disqualified for leading his country to pure disgrace with the sandpaper gate.
I think he was the best English captain post war.Was Hutton that good?
Yousuf was worse.Sachin is probably the worst captain I have evee seen. Might also be for the fact that he was just such a great batsman, useful part timer, safe fielder, that it was hard to imagine how he could be so **** at captaincy.
I think the best players are often not good captains.I think he was the best English captain post war.
I also think guys like Sachin, Lara, Gavaskar were terrible captains. Hammond had his issues and wasn't built for captaincy, Sobers we all know about his biggest tactical blunder. Smith, as I said. It's Hutton vs Viv for me and I think Hutton was a cleanly better captain.
Hutton effectively losing 1-0 at home to Pakistan (which resulted in a series draw) is arguably worsedidn't Smith lost 0-3 in Sri Lanka
How is 1-1 worse than 0-3Hutton effectively losing 1-0 at home to Pakistan (which resulted in a series draw) is arguably worse
Considering the relative strength of each team in those conditionsHow is 1-1 worse than 0-3
Which years were those series?Considering the relative strength of each team in those conditions
1-1 is better than 0-3 in any context, one is losing a game to an ATG performance, other is getting flogged away.Considering the relative strength of each team in those conditions
Yeah. Lost home and away to SA too.didn't Smith lost 0-3 in Sri Lanka
