Few pairs that come to my mind at an instant are

Walsh-Ambrose
Donald-Pollock
McGrath-Gillespie
Anderson- Broad
Wasim-Waqar
Southee-Boult
Ashwin-Jadeja

Rank them as a pair as per your view. Please add if I have missed anyone.

It should be McWarne in there - the greatest bowling pair overall in the history of cricket. If you're limiting it to just a nation/continent then it's obviously Ashwin-jadeja.

Wasim-Waqar as a pair were the best since their peaks coincided more than any of the others. Ashwin/Jadeja are the deadliest of all pairs at home, but not as effective away from as the best. Donald Pollock second in my opinion.

Created a poll. Asked to vote for best 3 since I believe McWarne will win easily as the best of the lot.

Donald and Pollock also had their peaks coinciding.

I find it hard to separate WW/CC/DP honestly.

In home conditions, I think the two current pairs of Ashwin-Jadeja followed by Anderson-Broad beat all of the others as the best. But across all conditions, Wasim-Waqar was the best to me followed by Ambrose-Walsh and then Donald-Pollock.

I wish Ashwin-Jadeja could have played more away. I think it would have worked well for India too if they had just gone with them for all the away matches too.

I know, but the fact that Waqar’s peak was the most devastating of all the above mentioned, that gives him and Waqar a slight edge over Donald Pollock.
Yeah that is true. Also I don't think Wasim and Waqar were ever quite as poor as Donald and Pollock towards the end of their careers.

Ambrose/Walsh had Bishop to help them in the early nineties, and the mid late nineties Ambrose was not as penetrative.

Broad averages 26 at home. Don't think his combo with Anderson is as deadly.

Vaas and Murali in SL also has a good record. Averages 21.4 for 673 wickets

For me it'd have to be the pair who were a threat and did the deed home and away and did it relatively consistently at the same time. In which case I'll have to give it to: McWarne, Walsh/Ambrose, Pollock/Donald. Each pair has one probably at most away country where they sucked which is good enough for me.
