Might be a little lacking in sample size but Graham Thorpe might be worth a mention? denied Sri Lanka a victory at Asgiriya Stadium in 2003, was important in the 2001 Asgiriya game too and of course, 113* and 23* at Colombo in a series winning performance in 2003. I don't know the average but always felt he was great in Sri Lanka.
