this kind of analysis, while obviously not everybody's cup of tea and certainly not infallible, is still interesting in the way it helps to cast light on certain aspects and the ways of looking at the game and comparing players, which, let's face it, comprises a large chunk of cricket discussion! 'twas ever thus.
however, the comments and back and forth on the analysis are what i find really edifying because they actually bring up important points about how and why comparisons might make sense etc., and the ways one might go about making said comparisons.

find how the values change after the changing of parameters and criteria rather intriguing as well, even though it could be argued that that only highlights how the analysis (or any analysis) is hoist with its own petard.

It is stat geekery (which is a good thing in moderation) taken to ridiculous extremes, and hence devoid of any value it might potentially have had.
