Damn, Lamb's killing Stokes, guess the big Windies tours swing the opinion.
Hard to look past Lamb's 6 tons v WI when compared to a batsman of similar stature. It's even more impressive considering a bowling attack with several 85mph+ operators was fairly new at the time and bowling machines weren't developed beforehand. Stokes himself is a good player of hit the deck bowling, but Lamb was a beast.

Both men relatively struggled v spin.

Yeah, three consecutive hundreds in the 1984 (?) series and two tons in the 1990 away series, one in a match winning cause, also had two tons against Hadlee/Chatfield/Cairns a series in 1983, quality against pace.

91 in Perth when England got skittled again is one of his better knocks too.
