Was always amazed at how many test quality batsmen Pakistan turned out in the 1970s and 1980s (when India was struggling with the likes of Chetan Chauhan, Anshuman Gaekwad, Kris Srikanth) and Yashpal Sharma).

Ok the basis that Miandad was the best and Zaheer second, who is next?

Not just Gavaskar, even Vishwanath, Amarnath and Vengsarkar had solid numbers against the peak WI pace bowlers. Heck, India was quite simply the best batting unit against them
