Bangladesh in Sri Lanka (Tests and ODI's) Discussion

Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh... Well Bangladesh could surprise a few here.... Sri Lanka's World Cup performances were not great and they will need to improve dramatically here or Bangladesh could pull off a memorable victory...

Confident about the tests. I think Mike and myself can put a good side together there.

sri lankan managers very keen to get back into the winning circle with a more than confident team to do marvellous things in the test arena. our more favoured of the 2 formats i think our test side may suprise a few ppl .......look forward to the challenege of rising the sri lankans to the top of test glory!.....

I now the boys aren't going to take Bangladesh lightly, but as Bugs said we are confident that the team that we have got will surprise some critics especially in the Test arena. Really looking forward to challenging series against Bangladesh and hopefully the hard work the boys have been doing in the training paddock will be reproduced on the field.

Probably the series with the least hype leading into it, but on paper this series looks like it will be very even...

Sri Lanka at home will be keen to impress after a disspointing show in the World Cup, whilst Bangladesh will be looking to show that they aren't a pushover..

Code:
Sri Lanka Bangladesh
W Anderson G Rahman *
S Kotak V Hurley
R Wickramaratne +	M Abedin
M Jayawardene F Reza
R Parida * Nazimuddin
B Hussain L Ahmed +
M Beasley V Walker
T Samaraweera A Hasan
A Rizan A Sunny
N Kulasekara A Kabir
C Gamage N Sharma

Sri Lanka won the toss and surprisingly sent the Tourists in on what looked an ok wicket..
Their gamble paid off with the Bangladesh batsman struggling to come to grips early with the Sri Lankan bowlers. Bangladesh dismissed for 158..

Sri Lanka in reply were shaky early but 91 from Wickramaratne and a heartbreaking 99 from Hussain got them to 306 and a handy lead...

In the 2nd Innings Sri Lanka applied the blow torch as they attacked the Bangladeshi's with some very good bowling.. Four wickets from Beasley led the way as Bangladesh were humbled for 111, an Innings defeat not the start they wanted...

Brilliant performances by the guys, a really profesional effort. The most pleasing thing about the performance is that the guys never took their foot of the pendle when we were infront and just kept at it. Special congrats has to go to Samarawerea, Beasley, Wicky and Hussain for their performance in the match. Even though we won this match confortable, the series aren't over yet and im sure Bangladesh will come back hard. Still two big matches to go in the series and their is no time for complency.

Hey Bugs you want to keep the same side, or maybe bring Arnold into the batting line up to add a bit more experience?

great effort by the boys a reall solid all round performance.. happy with the way the bowlers did what they had to and the bats did what they had to all though some of the top order and more senior players could have scored a little bit more but a good performance, one which was much needed after the poor one day showing in the world cup.....i think keep the same side..no reason to change

Sri Lanka went into the 2nd Test 1 up and were looking to seal the Series win in front of a capacity crowd...
Bangladesh although beaten rather convincingly in the 1st test had some positives and were looking for a much improved performance in game 2...

Sri Lanka won the toss and sent Bangladesh in once again looking to exploit any early deamons in the pitch..
Their bowlers did not dissapoint..
Bangladesh once again not coping with the Sri Lankan attack, after a healthy 65 run opening stand the flood gates opened and they were bowled out exactly 100 runs later...

Bangladesh could've been excused for having cases of dejavu as Sri Lanka again looked to dominate with the bat.. A 56 run stand from Anderson and Kotak, before Anderson joined with Wickramaratne to cruise passed the Bangladesh score for the loss of only 1 wicket..
Although the Bangladeshi's continued to fight, the Sri Lankans built a lead which pretty much put the visitors out of the game.. All Out 365...

200 runs behind and needing a miracle to get out alive the Visitors folded quicker then a deck of cards..
They had no answer once again to the Sri Lankan bowlers as they were bundled out for 103... A match which was very very similar to game 1...

Their 2nd Innings defeat and with 1 test remaining, pressure will be on the players as well as their managers to find something to take away with them..

Another comprehensive win there, i thought Bangla might have been a bit stronger then this, but the boys are playing really well and not letting them into the game. Its good to see everyone contributing, would be nice if Jayawardene and Parida scored a few more runs, but they have been required to yet. We should probably should let this XI finish off the job, but i couldn't hurt to give Dhamika and Arnold a run and see what they have at this level.

Mike, any ideas?
hmmm not good at all  maybe we need to look at different batsmen because that was embarrasing.
