Currently ranked #1
IT is possible, we wont even be in the top #4 in the future, fast forward 5 years time.
Consider- Nathan lyon is 35. Smith is 34, and Khawaja is 36, Starc is 33 and old for an 'express' quick. A few wont be playing in 2028. The cupboard is bare in terms of batting prodigies or solid non injury prone young quicks.
Warner- on his way out very soon- age 36, but hes no good currently anyway.
Cummins- hes still only 30, Head, only 29 - will remain as is Labu 29
In terms of backups- Neser is 33, and Boland is 34- both wont be playing in 2028 i imagine?
So most of the 'bench' strength is gone and the existing team, many of the good players will be gone and theres no clear up and comers to replace.
Whereas if u look at ENG, they got a bit younger team.
