Love Gough (and Caddick) but Fraser for me. When you consider how bad the England teams were at that time, his stats are pretty incredible. He was the only English bowler the Aussies respected, and had a good record there. And he could have been even better -- Michael Atherton always holds him up as an example of a player who was burned out by the demands of county cricket and would have had a longer and more productive Test career in the era of central contracts.

Fraser, slightly. I've been watching some '90s NZ/Eng stuff on Youtube and Defreitas seemed pretty useful back then as well.

IMO Fraser was bit better but Gough got more out of his career. Fraser's poorly treated hip injury right in what should have been his peak and interesting selections didn't help him.

Interestingly Gough has the better FC average, and they're about equal on five-fors. Gough never had those big hauls in test like Fraser's against WI though, and had significantly fewer test hauls.

International Debutant
Gough - purely because he had a lovely slingy action, whereas Fraser looked like he was going through absolute hell in his run up.

International Coach
Fraser has some monster test performances a very underrated guy as hardly anyone remember him
