Flintoff had an amazing peak (2003-2006), but outside that he posted one century at an average of 23 and took 1.85WPM @ 43.

Long-term consistency is brutally difficult for pace-bowling all-rounders. Not least those who are 6ft4 and bowl 140+. But I would want slightly more stable returns outside his peak (like Stokes has) to take him over Thorpe.

I do think Flintoff is England's greatest ever ODI cricketer though.
