Cameron never even scored a test ton. His entire reputation is based on one over. Imtiaz Ahmed was the first wicket keeper to score a double century in tests.
Scoring 200 on a flat turf wicket at home against the might of Johnny Hayes and Harry Cave? What an effort. You could base a reputation on that.

No wicket keeper managed even that before him and none did it for 25 more years. He also scored 2 other centuries against Cameron's 0.

It would appear that highly rated glovemen like Tallon, Evans, Oldfield et al aren't ranked as highly on CW. A greater emphasis is being put on keeper/batsmen ... with the batsman aspect the major factor.
The entire keeping selections have been downright awful tbh. Evans and Cameron just fighting for selection is ridiculous

I personally would say Saeed Anwar being the 29th opener selected is far more egregious than many of the other selections. Unsure why he’s being so underrated.

Anwar's raw figures are really good but the problem is that he only played about six years. Fails the longetivity test compared to others ahead of him.

Wasn't Taylor selected ahead of him in the NZ XI as well?
Yeah. Taylor had the longer and obviously better career, but Donnelly was a top level bat.

A lot of people put the likes of Smith, Mitchell, and Kirsten ahead of Barry R on test career but consider Barry better than all 3.

Nah he's two tiers below Hanif. Classic case of a great ODI career being merged with a worse test one resulting in a seriously overrated player, much like Viv Richards or Dennis Lillee.
You know I’m basically the opposite of someone who would let that affect me right?

I don't recall Lillee being an outstanding odi player and that was never the reason Lillee was highly rated. If there is such a player, it would be Wasim.

To think that's why Viv is highly rated as a test player also requires one to ignore a peak that, outside of Bradman is likely the greatest ever, and dominant performances and tours against some of the greatest bowlers of all time, often in their back yard.
