*ALftA CLOSED* (for renovations)

As you all would have noticed, the simming of A League for the Ages 2 has been suspended for some time now. This, as Marc and I realize that their is a disappointing lack of commitment and interest. Indeed, we too have lost some interest in the project and that too is disappointing.

As such, ALftA 2 has been shut down where it stands. This season will not be completed.

There's something to be said for seeing through a process, so it does seem somewhat "wrong" for such an abrupt end to come, when so close to completion. Still, we feel we have no choice, as this is the best option to salvage the name of ALftA.

Instead we will be taking the time to re-work the concept, process and running of the League before re-opening at an undisclosed date. Call it renovations of sort.

Too much time and effort has gone into ALftA already for the entire thing to be scrapped. As such, this is the best solution.

Stay tuned though, as eventually ALftA will return, revamped and revitalized.

I echo Liam's sentiments, and would say that we realise there are those that have been extremely supportive, and they will get 1st invitation when we restart.

As an ALftA2 manager from the start I would to just ask the board a few questions about what the plans are.

Firstly, what are the types of changes you are considering doing? A format change? A team change? Also will you be a) requiring or b) thinking about taking advice, thoughts etc from the long-standing managers.

Secondly I was not aware that the season had any time left bar. ODI Round 10.

From Basin Reserve Bears Coach and Manager, and ready to suggest.

The MCG Manta Rays would like to express their thanks to both Liam and Marc for the hard work they have done throughout season 2 and their previous efforts with season 1. We understand the massive effort it takes to run a large competition such as ALFTA and we fully support the early closure to season 2. Our fans and especially our players are disappointed they have not been given a chance to become ODI champions, however they understand the reasons for the early closure.

Well, exactly 3 months have passed since the announcement of the renovation and closing, and I'm sure other managers along with me would be intrigued to find out what changes have been decided on or Marc and Liam are considering.

We are still planning at the moment Jamee, but unfortunately real life is having to take priority as both Liam and I have exams in the near future.

Indeed. In three months or so I will be rid of exams and can refocus on such a project and it won't be long then, I expect, until Marc and I can have a superior product on the market for you guys.

I belive that Liam's exams are over, but I'm not so sure about Marc's will there be any type of update of intentions soon?

Just like to say, if this ever does open up again and there's any spots available, I'd be interested. Looks like good fun.

It certainly was. However, I'd rather Liam's focus be on cricketweb XI (and subsequent competitions) than ALFTA. It is much more important IMO.

The intention is to eventually re-open this, but it would require a fair amount of work, which neither Marc nor I have the time to put in atm. However, if anyone wants to volunteer, perhaps the process can be sped up.
