Stewart, Atherton and Stokes might be the only cricketers to have batting as their primary discipline, play more than 100 Tests and average less than 40 in the modern era.

Alec and England were both screwed by stupid selection policies.

The same ones you all just selected for the 2nd AT team btw.

There’s Carl Hooper, Brendon Mccullum and Johnny Bairstow too.
Jayasuriya escapes barely averaging over 40.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Nasser Hussian escapes barely by playing 2 and 4 Tests less.

McCullum, M Rahim, and Bairstow all kept in more than 1/2 of their tests.
McCullum kept in 52/101 and was a world class keeper. Mushfiqur Rahim was an adequate keeper and has kept in 55/98. Bairstow was a mediocre keeper and kept in 55/100.
