Jacques Kallis averages 503 in Zimbabwe.
Slips to a mere 169.75 once his home tests v Zimbabwe are included. Although that is paired with a bowling average of 14.71!
I was just pointing out cos imo 2005 “Test” shouldn’t count. If it doesn’t his average goes from 49.60 to 50.16
Nah, there's too much statistical elitism about what counts as test cricket because these were matches involving "scratch" rather than national sides. There have been plenty of official tests between two national sides that have devalued the game more than these matches have.

This England vs India test is the first test in 10 years, and ninth overall, to have both teams score the same amount of runs in the first innings.

Two of these occurred in the same year, 1973. This is also the first time that it has happened twice for the same set of opponents, also happening for India and England in 1986, resulting in a draw. Every team prior to Sri Lanka has been involved in at least one of those 9 matches.

It took sixty years for a test match to feature 15 or more bowled dismissals until England and India managed it in the third test that finished today. It took another six hours for it to happen again in the third test of the West Indies v Australia series.

I've just read that Jadeja, Kamboj and Bumrah all have the same birthday (Dec 6th) playing in the same Test side. But it becomes even more bizarre that both Nair (dropped for this game) and Shreyas have the same day too.

So what goes on 9 months before that date then (March 6th or thereabouts) in India????
