Charles Bannerman scored 165* out of 245 runs of the team total, in the first innings in the first ever test match in cricket history.
That is, to this day, the highest percentage of runs scored (67.35%) by a single batsman ever in a completed test innings.
Absolutely nuts! Sounds too good to be true.

Reid's 100 out of 159 also seems pretty remarkable. He also scored 74 (out of 266) in the first innings; no other batsman reached 50 in the match, but the England batters made a lot of 30s and 40s and won by 7 wickets.

Michael Bevan (65 wickets in international cricket in 250 matches) has got a 10fer in test cricket but Garner, Lindwall, Bumrah, Willis, Hazlewood, Morkel, Wagner, Gillespie, Shami, Thomson, Lee etc. don't.

On the subject of part timers taking wickets,
Sachin Tendulkar also has more ODI 5fers than Warne, but the big one is that Sachin is the only bowler in ODI history to successfully defend 6 or less runs in the last over of an ODI twice.
