It doesn't matter what you think is the right thing (which might infact be right for the player) what matters is how PCB works as they are the one who slects the players, not you or i. In recent past they have always risked the career of their players.
It matters inasmuch as I'm stating my opinion on the matter. And I'll state it again.

"You don't rush back into cricket after a knee injury."

And you don't jeopardize your playing career for one tournament.

This might actually be a good thing for Pakistan. We have enough batsmen who can bowl a bit, we could use some bowling support.

what is wrong with trying Azhar mahmood then risking razzaq and rushing him through the team. he is out it is a sad news but i think azhar mahmood has the same abalities as razzaq. as long as there is azhar mahamood this isn't as big blow as most people are saying here. if pakistan lose shoaib and asif then that is what i call a big blow.

If Razzaq is really injured then I'm a giant purple elephant. Read the Cricinfo article, Razzaq said he was training then the doctors told him he was out of the World Cup, amazingly the actual point of getting injured seems to have slipped his mind.

Then later the PCB Statement says something like "It could be a ligament strain, it could be a fracture". Now, forigive me, but even someone with absolutely no medical training could tell the difference between those two. Generally they're caused by two very different things.

IMO Razzaq has failed a drugs test and Pakistan are covering it up (For a change.)

that can be a reason. i mean that was kind of werid when i read that. the guy was in training and during the training he didn't feel any pain or any thing like that. if he was injured then he wouldn't be able train.
there is no evidance to back this up. it is just a comment yet from me.

I believe it they stated "ligament damage" and that doesn't refer to merely a strain. Such an injury can be sustained through an injury of similar or greater stress as to cause a fracture. I really don't see what the gripe is here other than another baseless conspiracy theory.

Exactly, and therefore you should not be stating it as fact as it is entirely assumption, and with no basis either.

Even with Razzaq’s bowling seemingly gone to pot it is still a huge blow for Pakistan. One of the best late order batsman in world cricket and he would have been a right handful on those small grounds you feel.

Not the biggest fan of Azhar, seen him get the treatment more often than not at the Oval but he is a canny little cricketer. Though, Yasir Arafat would have been my replacement.

The biggest point is the fact that he won't be allowed back in the squad. He has been replaced in the squad - he can't come back when he's fit even if he and the PCB want him to.

Never disputed that fact, what i was saying was that had his injury not been serious and had he been ruled out for just 2-3 wks, a replacement wouldn't have been named and they would have included him later in the team.
