Never really rated de villiers as highly as others in tests. Top tier ODI player but felt he made a ton of soft runs in the first half of his career in tests ,not sure if that's an unfair perception. He was great in the last 4-5 years of his career though I do mark him down a bit for that sabbatical he took in 2017 when he was in poor form.
