Okay? when the best feat you can find is performing against Johnson while Boyc performed against multiple ATGs, that says a lot. and No, Boycott was not selfish, it's a dumb narrative.
Boycott was selfish. Don't deny that now, or the whole claim falls flat. And Johnson was legit ATG that series. Unless you go by names, that series wasn't worse than almost any pacer Boycott faced in.

does this finally prove that Jim Laker was an excellent flat track spinner? or are you going to make the wickets spin friendly again now that Laker found success on them?
Ramadhin and Ferguson outbowled him. You decide.

literally, what did AB do that makes him Viv level against pace in his 2010-15 prime. and No, Boycott was not selfish, no more than Cheteshwar Pujara, no more than Marnus Labuschagne and no more than Alastair Cook

Rich coming given Weekes had single decent tour of a moderately strong country and had roads worse than early 2020s Pakistan.
also, btw even if you lower Weekes in my opinion, I'd straight up just say Kanhai>Weekes and roll on anyway, so there's no point in attacking Weekes

Boycott was selfish. Not really the type of Pujara or Labuschagne or Cook. He was all out legit selfish prick who batted for himself not team.

@Johan I will end it with this last argument, you rating of ABD sucks. He was a Great in same sub tier as Barrington, Weekes, Nourse, Compton, Walcott and Miandad.
the fact you placed Miandad in the same tier as Nourse and Barrington already shows your opinion sucks way more than mine.

anyway, here's who the IPL pet De Villiers should be actually be placed with.

Kanhai
Lloyd
Crowe
Miandad
Greenidge
Virat

Geoff "Botham ran him out to win" Boycott
AB "I ran from Cricket to play Leagues when my team needed me" De Villiers

though, Botham was in the wrong there, and Boycott genuinely wasn't able to accelerate on a difficult pitch, it was 2/47 and New Zealand would get bowled out for 105 in just 27 overs. The team feared rain would come, but it didn't, as Boycott had thought.

I feel like whilst Boycott was obsessed with his own success he wasn’t necessarily a selfish player. But eh whatever.

Its been suggested that he made himself unavailable for tests for a period (3 years, 30 tests) because he wasn’t selected to be captain after Illingworth. Now that was a bit of a selfish move. England did suffer a bit during that time. Whilst having a lower draw rate, most of those extra draws went to losses rather than wins.
