Wait, why isn't Woakes allowed a sub? Does it nit count as an external injury?
Injury subs are not yet a thing in international cricket. You get replacement for a specialist position like keeping but the player still has to bat. Only benefit of an external injury is that you can still bat at your normal position and if you do come back on the field of play, you can bowl as soon as you want, instead of waiting around for same amount of time as you spent away, in the case of internal injuries.

As I said before though, definitely all for injury subs in international cricket. Its always a bit of a mockery when it becomes 10 Vs 11.
