As someone relatively impartial on Woakes, you missed his best bowling, he was excellent on Day 1 here.

He was also good on D4 Hedingley, unlucky to not have more wickets.

We need to score minimum 300 here to have any kind of chance in this game. And bowl FAR better. England are definitely showing they will knuckle down when needed, which was something missing in Bazball everytime they had a bit of success. Seems like they have learned their lesson finally and we cant depend on them self destructing out of sheer hubris anymore.

All said though, even if they do win this series 5-0 on such pitches, its not gonna help them prepare for what the Aussies would dish out. Unless they find a method to play on tracks that will help the bowlers (fast bowlers/spinners) they will always have this huge pendulum swing between results esp. home and away.
