Just noticed how consistent Jadeja's batting is everywhere. 34 in Aus, 32 in Eng (will go up after this game), 37 in India, 39 in WI, 35 in NZ..... Only 2 in SA in 3 innings and 80 in SL in 2.

I suppose they think there's more chance of Eng chasing down 500 in a 125 overs versus just 100-105? Though if you're relying on such close margins then the game is already past saving in all likelihood. Strange how times have changed; used to be the only thing teams setting targets worried about was how many overs they needed to bowl the other side out.

The other weird thing about Jaddu batting like this is that, as so often happens, the moment he does decide to go on the attack, he is gonna hole out as he is not in the rhythm here. He has to get back into it by running hard and getting 1s and 2s before he tees off. Weird innings, but I think its weird strategy by the management than anything he is doing on his own. Except maybe they said take it easy and get singles and he is unable to do that, as he always has had an issue rotating strike vs spin. Very block/bash against the spinners.
