Yup. I said this before the start of the series. I didn’t think England had the bowling to win the series. mccullum needs to address Englands bowling. If you keep conceding 400 plus in the first dig, even bazball isn’t going to save you more often than not.

***Official*** Under-19 World Cup- South Africa 2024

Be interesting to see how many of the Aussie quicks make it big. Pace and bounce may work wonders by themselves at u19 level but that’s not going to cut it at the higher levels. the history of this tournament suggests that most pace bowlers who look really impressive at this level don’t make it...

    India Doom and Gloom Thread

Also Dravid cops a bit too much flak from Indian fans imo. He has had to deal with significant injury issues in every series or tournament since he took over. That wouldn’t be easy for any coach to deal with.

This. India are a team in transition and with any team in transition results are going to be mixed. you can see the nucleus of a new Indian side slowly emerging though. gill jaiswal paddikal jurel kuldeep sarfaraz washington throw in sai sudarshan, Tilak, yash dhull and pradosh there’s plenty...

    Indian Cricket Dhaba

Tamil Nadu have surely got their best chance in years to win the elusive Ranji trophy this year. Sandeep Warrior , kuldeep Sen and sai kishore is a good attack. Their batting line is arguably the best in the Ranji trophy. it’s probably a question of whether they can bring their A game in the...

    Official Jasprit Bumrah fanboying thread

Agreed with this. He is imo better than Wasim and Waqar who were both a bit overrated like most subcontinental high profile players to be fair. Both of Indias series wins in Australia featured significant Bumrah contributions. it’s really only a question of is he better than Imran for the...

this is why I don’t think England will win the series. India have the better bowling attack.

    Official Jasprit Bumrah fanboying thread

Bumrah is the best subcontinental pace bowler I have seen and in my opinion only Imran is possibly better. I never saw Imran at his peak so I cant compare the two but I did see wasim and waqar and I think Bumrah is better than them.

Which team is currently the best, in 2023?

Australia probably are at present but they haven’t looked convincing at all this summer against fairly average to weak opposition in Pakistan and West Indies. Definitely think Nz in March, India next summer and even the Poms in the summer after will feel they are in with a chance against the...

no Pujara. You will be most pleased to know the Indians have in particular two promising batting talents from Chennai - sai sudharshan and pradosh ranjan paul. You can start planning your long awaited trip to Chennai with family to watch the next BGT in India and hopefully see Sai Sudharshan...

Why ? He's a shadow of the player from the 2018-19 BGT and even the 20-21 BGT. Genuinely think Jaiswal is an upgrade on him at this stage.

Think they’ll play 5 bats plus keeper plus jadeja as their top 7. I think Rahul may bat 5 and edge out Iyer. It’s a question of bharat v Kishan - bharat is the better keeper but kishan more likely to get runs at test level imo.

Top 10 Greatest Fast Bowlers of All Time in Tests?

Bishop was a hell of a bowler no doubt. Never seen anyone scare David Boon the way he did in Perth 1993. Pity about the injury. windies v Australia in the 1980s and 1990s - that was real cricket

Marsh is a player IMO who’s had a decent run of form but is likely to revert to the mediocre stuff he’s trotted out for most of his career. I don’t think he’s as good as Aussie pundits or the press make out. but green at 4 makes sense taking in a long term view - he is Australia’s best young...

looking forward to seeing Teddy Bishop. On the Carib cricket podcast they were saying he’s arguably the best young batsman the region has produced in years.
