Is Kane Williamson an ATG Test Batsman?

Not really. Same bracket as Sangakkara. Nice shiny stats but meh, when did it all even happen?

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Compton got rolled under Bazball did he? I see he just made a double too at a sober SR of 58. Just the sort of guy you might've invested in before a tour of Aus.

    Who's Done the Most Damage?

The funniest thing about the PC subforum is when someone says they used to think so-and-so player was great/not great but now after convincing arguments to the contrary they have revised their opinion.

Javagal Srinath vs. Mohd Siraj – the better test bowler

Remember seeing him visibly shaken when he bloodied some South African on an early tour, Pringle or Snell, not sure. Not dissimilar to your countryman Ratnayake.

*Official* India tour of England 2025 General Discussion

IMO The Oval is the only game where either team could legitimately claim they deserved to win. All the other results were fine as they landed. Edit: In the series just past i.e.

*Official* India tour of England 2025 General Discussion

Regards to Prasidh, can't make fun of 8 wickets albeit at 6 rpo. He could've cost us the game but it's no lie that he played a huge role in us winning it too. I'll be very happy if he can achieve enough discipline to bring his economy down to even 4. Still expensive but a bit more manageable if...

Javagal Srinath vs. Mohd Siraj – the better test bowler

Career of two halves really. He was extremely erratic and frail till about '94. Then he gained some weight, nailed down his action, developed reverse in SC conditions and the ball that held its line. His length never really crept up that extra yard though which is why he always looked great and...

    Top 10 Indian Cricketers

Yeah, didn't see the Tests bit. Looks a pretty sound list then.

Javagal Srinath vs. Mohd Siraj – the better test bowler

Srinath pretty much maximized the potential he had at his disposal. Siraj can still be so much better if he achieves some degree of consistency.

    Top 10 Indian Cricketers

eh MS has to be in there somehow. Not sure who he edges out. Maybe put an asterisk next to Bumrah because he hasn't played enough. But Dhoni's contributions in the overall scheme of modern Indian cricket are monumental.

*Official* Road to the 2025-26 Ashes

Actually, yes. Imran, Sohail, and even Waqar have been cunty in commentary at various times. It's our idiots who usually come with the bhaichaara/brotherhood narrative

*Official* Road to the 2025-26 Ashes

lmao gotta love how English-Aussie commentators really stick it in to their rivals when they suck. As opposed to the mealymouthed platitudes we used to get during Indo-Pak games.

What we learned from the 5th Test

Yeah it's absurd to think Pant would've saved those byes down leg. If anything, post-accident, that bum left knee prevents him from putting too much weight on it while moving sideways. He's probably better at anticipating the ball swerving past the stumps in English conditions due to past...

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

He looks a jittery, overanxious batsman at the best of times. Not a surprise he melts under pressure in second innings. For a while I used to think of him as Ian Bell's successor but turns out Bell, fragile as he could be, was a model of composure compared to this guy.

    Indian Cricket Dhaba

This is still a team that has pulled off wins in Aus and Pak in the last year and some. I'd be livid if we added to their collection by taking them lightly i.e. by resting Bumrah.

    Better All Rounder Pair

How long do we reckon Jadeja has? He's 37 now and still the fittest guy in the squad by a mile. There's literally nothing stopping him from playing till 40 and maybe even an year or two beyond. I don't mind if he transitions to a fully batting-oriented role in the side by then, though his...

*Official* Road to the 2025-26 Ashes

Impossible to win a long series in Aus without a Cook/Pujara-style ballast in the side. Aussie bowling is way too experienced to be bullied game-after-game in home conditions by England's current approach.

Who are your favourite commentators/analysts on TV & Radio

I hope Sky recruits Mark Wood on a permanent basis and doesn't force him to urbanize his accent. He's fun to listen to.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

He is, he is. I just always pictured Benedict as a very Anglo-Indian-type name. I've known at least three Benedicts growing up in Bombay so ("aye wat men Benny bugger").
