    Official Rugby Thread

There are some warm up matches on Saturday, England have picked a full strength side for what is normally a proper test for them, which is playing in Paris. That'll probably be a good judge of where they're at going in to the cup, which you probably can't say of the 90 point win against Spain...

    Official Rugby Thread

It's been a two horse race for a while now with 5 of the last 6 finals being NZ beating England and the other (2014) being the one where NZ randomly crashed out to Ireland before making the semis. Add that to it being in England and the home side being as good as they've ever been over the last...

I'm going to have to go out for a bit.

    All but Bradman really. Bradman 3969 @92.30, 15 tons (Brook 2812 @58.58, 10 tons; at the time of writing) Lara 2869 @58.55, 6 tons V Richards 2736 @58.21, 9 tons Hobbs 2715 @57.64, 6 tons Hammond 2681 @59.57, 9 tons Sobers 2636 @59.90, 8 tons Hutton 2510 @52.29, 7 tons Tendulkar 1963 @51.65...

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

They honestly had Pope on toast for the whole session.

My first thought was too high.

Let's be sure to take a moment to get upset about the dialogue we've imagined.

Clutch AF. 2/3 of all England football trophies have been won in the last 3 years

    Bowlers then and now

The idea that there aren't any test bowlers around better than Harbhajan Singh and Lance Klusener is certainly a take. Also the one where you just deliberately forget that all the best players over a period of 30 years were (a) always playing, (b) always playing together and (c) always played...

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

The lead isn't big enough to hold for 5 sessions, so given how easily they're scoring now, its not worth declaring. If time becomes an issue, it'll be worth it not to have to bat as much last.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

That's Root's 16th 150, which is only really notable because he's just gone past Ricky Ponting again.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

Never really been of a mind to stat pad, Stokes. Which is admirable, I suppose, if you don't care for those of us who have the statsguru tabs open.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

Here's the list. 40 such occasions, Corbin Bosch the most recent last month, Gus Atkinson the last for England last year. Beefy the leading player with five efforts, Ashwin has four and no one else more than two.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

I think it'll be one fewer. Ponting played 287 and this is Root's 286th knock.
