    Battrick query

Well, no collusion occured, no agreement was made- of course I sent them on in any case, hoping he'd set a target of 300-350- which would have been another 230-280 runs. It didn't quite work out like that.... End of Over 96 (6 runs). benidorm4holidays: 696-2, runrate=7.25 (1st Inn: 346-10)...

    Battrick query

Hi fellow battrick users, regarding Battrick, declarations, contrived run chases and joke bowling what are the rules? For example I've got a game whereby the opps lead by 29 after 1st Innings with tomorrow and 8 overs left. If I offered joke bowling and the opps to set a target, would this be...

Gonna watch it now, Cheers! Real bunsen that- though again Messrs Martyn, Laxman, Tendulkar and Hayden all batted rather well...

    English Domestic Season 2011

Good day at Gloucs today- afteroon, Glamorgan just imploded- lost 4 wickets for next to nothing and despite a small lead were always behind the 8 ball. Current results and games played mean Middlesex all but up I think, perhaps between Surrey, Northants and then a bit further back, ourselves for...

Good point- Hussey in the 1st Innings and Clarke in the 2nd- both excellent players of spin, both batted very well. Having said that, the SL batting failure in the 1st dig especially, I dunno- too expansive?

About a year before my cricket watching but yeah definitely heard much about that one...:D

    ***Official*** Australia in Sri Lanka

Seems to be a bit of a bias against spin I think- just a small one but all the same I'm all for a lively track provided it isn't dangerous- pace or spin, matters not. Pacers have done quite ok on this too though...

    ***Official*** Australia in Sri Lanka

Not seen a pitch turn so much, so early before. Clarke and Hussey great players of spin, Australia almost certain to win here. Incidentally, talking of Hussey I'm really unconvinced it was out- Benefit of doubt to batsmen etc- watched it several times this evening online and yeah still...

    English Domestic Season 2011

They are bottom but even so I think after things went belly up in the CC they may have prioritised 20/20 and aren't massively bothered about other forms after winning it- or drained, after Lord Mayor's Show etc.

    English Domestic Season 2011

Fairly early declaration by Middlesex, Strauss 240ish*. In response, Leicestershire couldn't even muster a single batting point (496/2 vs 193)- anyone else think that since 20/20 won their heart may not fully be in it!?

    Battrick

Look on course for FC promotion- screwed up my opening game by batting on too long on the last day but no such problems this time being some 385 ahead. OD going ok also.

***Official*** Pakistan and England in UAE

More likely both batting lineups- provided spin doesn't dso the job or Pakistan don't just collapse against the odds as has happened many times before, then yeah both batting lineups in those conditions could cancel each other out and 0-0 it may end up. If the pitches are as dry as that too, I...

If the wickets are as flat as people say, 5 bowlers or 2 spinners a necessity? Can't see us having problems making runs but I can see us having issues with regards taking the 20 wickets...

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

There have been some sharp catches by India for sure. We (England) have I'd suggest been below our recent standards in terms of fielding- especially with some of the drops. England are a younger side for sure which may explain it (general difference in ground fielding) somewhat- but then ever...

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Yup quite true, uncharacteristically bad so far in that dept- not just catches though, but general grounnd fielding, agility in the field etc.

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

For sure the pitch did ease out. Can;t help but feel though that in a series as tight as this and that (ordinarily) our fielding and running between the wickets are superior to India and this could provide a priceless advantage over the course of the series.

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

I got that feeling- he was matchwinner at Adelaide but was up and down in Ashes- did quite well in SA though, non spinning conditions and ok at times with bat. Lords and Oval 2009 good but that aside less so. I did worry about him vs India though he's still surely our best spinner atm and best...

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Probably a meaningless stat, but any thoughts? Did a little research on this innings and noticed that after extras are discounted, while 51.92% of our runs came in boundaries in that 1st Innings, India's ratio was about 60.86%. Does this mean anything- competitive advantage in terms of running...

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

What a great days play. Standout performances were Broad with ball and Dravid with bat- honourable mentions also to Bresnan with ball, Laxman and Yuvraj with bat. Bresnan's ball to get rid of Laxman was a cracker and he has generally bowled pretty well I think. Swann getting tonked was not a...
