One note on commentators- listened to TMS up until lunch, Boycott compared Sreesanth and Kumar to good club bowlers (he rated Sharma though clearly)...

Great days play that- fairly evenly poised? India would have felt on top for sure before Broad and Swann had that great partnership, but ebbed and flowed, one way then the other. Certainly could have had one or two more wickets in the evening- generally speaking though, India's fielding was not...

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

While I think Anderson is a great bowler, Steyn is perhaps the best pace bowler since McGrath so yeah he'd edge it I think. My main memory of watching Steyn was him vs Collingwood in that duel on the last day Cape Town 2010- that passage of play was fantastic, how Steyn didn't get a breakthrough...

I'd go with Bresnan really- with Finn yes he is a good prospect and can get wickets, but can also get it wrong- Bresnan on the other hand bowled economically in the subcontinent (albeit Bangladesh) and Australia. Finn's probably the bigger risk- may be less economical and given India are behind...

Hi Heath, Essentially long story short decided to leave another forum at least for a while, one or two issues- hopefully this one will be better.

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Quite true. We played very well indeed, but have to say- thinking about it, out of the top 6 and Dhoni, only Mukhund and Dravid produced in their 1st Innings with Laxman and Raina in the 2nd. Their bowling was mostly patchy, though Kumar did well in the 1st Innings and Sharma a brilliant spell...

The lack of acclimatisation is incredible- combined with players having either done IPL or sat out previous series on top of that- the warm ups and 'rotation' of certain players certainly have the hallmarks of Fletcher's management strategy!

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

They have gone OTT. Sure it was a great win and yeah our form this last 2 years has been outstanding but one win doesn't necessarily herald some long term changing of the guard. On top of which as I said before, expect India to come back hard. Smacks a bit of hyperbole on the part of certain...

*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Excellent win in the first Test, several stand out performances. First Test showed the best of Test cricket- ebbed and flowed, some good individual performances and the better side eventually coming out on top- fully expect India to comeback hard though at Trent Bridge, no doubt.

    Battrick

Am 2nd in both my Leagues, 2 way race for promotion in each- play main rival on the last day in both cases, which should be interesting. On the theme of Battrick, 4th Innings totals- what are the general records and what are other users highest/most noteworthy totals?
