Baggy Green ball tampering: Bancroft, Smith and the Aussie "Leadership Group"

typos Wasn't sure if I should post anything since people who do not post here regularly are frowned upon. But I had to share that: I am German - living in SA for decades and learnt to love cricket to such an extent that I spent weekends umpiring lower league cricket. (just as where I am...

    Worst short-lived selections

ML Lewis ODI bowler for Australia on the 2006 tour to South Africa. After the 438 game I never saw him for Australia again. Was he only in for that one series?

    South African Domestic Season 2016/17

I was at Newlands and it was painful (for a Cobras supporter). Not only the bowling - the entire team looked decisively unorganised. Being a cricket umpire in the lower leagues it had a distinct feeling of a lower league team out of it's depth. I really hope this will improve with time. On...

    South Africa team selection

Hmmm - looked for it in any other news - nothin' This would be all over SA news. It isn't - so I rather wait for confirmation than lapping this up. Ok ... it's true. Dman .... De Villiers unavailable for Tests for most of 2017 | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

    Wastemen etc

The slow arm of death :-O:D.... I always thought he was good. The fact that nobody here has him on the radar shows me that he didn't make glaring mistakes. That means he was good.

***Official*** Australia in South Africa + South Africa in Australia 2016/17

I am a lurker reading along only mostly. But here I am today ... Let us be honest. If that would have happened to SA everybody would have told us to stop whinging and get on with it. And we would have. In balance I reckon drs makes more correct decisions than a human umpire as far as lbw is...

*Official* First Test at Trent Bridge

Not a fan of his, but I just saw the highlights of KPs 50 - his straight drives are - exquisite.

*Official* First Test at Trent Bridge

Great day of riviting test cricket. Aussies lucky with the last wicket stand ... but well done from the young man and it was truly sickening to watch him get out when he did. Right now I don't think it's evenly matched. I would put me money on Australia for being in the superior position...

Blows my mind as well. They are not even entertaining - apart from not really shining at this level. Ontong certainly has been tried and tested enough and wasn't exactly outstanding - give somebody else a go.

Dale Steyn vs Allan Donald vs Shaun Pollock

I remember when Pollock came onto the international scene. He was fast! Yes - a tad erratic at times but fast nevertheless. Later on he bowled 125 or there about. Accurate, yes, and he got wickets but wasn't more exciting than a wall clock. The most exciting one was Donald because you never...

    ****Official****Pakistan in South Africa

Very happy for South Africa - Mission accomplished. Can't believe we are No 1 in the world and managed to hold on to it!! Where are the chokers of old? As far as Hafeez is concerned - he looks like coming down with his bat diagonally when he plays a shot. When you do that and you...

Philander is he better than Steyn?

Even if they were on the same level this would always favour Steyn. Having said that - over all Steyn is clearly the better (speak: usable and a thread in all conditions) bowler even without the ahletisism thrown into it.
