    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Was feeling off colour last night and fell asleep in the lunch break (my disposition certainly wasn't helped by what I saw in the first session). Sounds like Australia regained some dignity in the final session, but that opening session was as poor a session from Australia as I can remember...

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Can't wait for tonight. Should be great. It's such a great timezone for us, although maybe a start a couple of hours earlier would be better. As it is we can spend all night watching cricket. Was ace in the first test watching the first hour with my son before he nods off. He's fascinated...

    Greatest West Indian Batsman

Viv, just ahead of Sobers. Headley, Lara, Weekes and Walcott all very close as well.

If ponting wins the toss and bowls, I'll kill someone.

Freddie to retire after the Ashes

As I also said in CC, awesome bloke and on occasion, on the biggest of all stages, a scrotum shrivellingly awesome player. Warne played as good a series as was conceivable for an individual to play in 05, but there was no real debate to be had that Flintoff was the best player of the series.

Freddie to retire after the Ashes

As I said in the CC thread, it may well inspire them. It's not like the team is working so well at the moment that any disruption to their rhythm is necessarily a bad thing.

Freddie to retire after the Ashes

Massive, albeit unsurprising given his injury woes. Glad he's resisting the Botham path of persisting long past his best. Might be the inspiration for the English to reclaim the Ashes.

    Formula 1 Thread

Sorry for being an unabashed fan of the formula 1 driver from my country, would expect Kiwis to understand. :p

    Watson to replace mike hussey

The prob with that theory is that these days Australia only has to bat once a match :whistling Agree re North - lol'd to see someone earlier in the thread describe him as being carried 8-)

Webber **** on Heidfield when they were both at Williams.

    Watson to replace mike hussey

Now, few are bigger Watto fans than I, but if this happens for Lords I'll suffer a fractured vertebre from the resultant facepalm.

*Official* First Test at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff

Don't get Gimh's pic-joke there. Actually find myself in complete agreement with Social here. Whether or not the issue is the 'invention' of the Ebglish media, the alacrity with which that media and some fans here have seized upon it as the discussion point to come out of the match suggests it...

Yeah, he shows intent in the same way a boy band member shows his toughness. Still not convincing.

    Captaincy of Strauss and Ponting

I think, and I hope I'm not grasping at straws here, is that Ponting didn't expect to get two more overs from that end in. I think he was worried about not getting another Hauritz over in if he gave one of the quicks the ball, but then not only did North get through his over in time, Hauritz...

    Formula 1 Thread

So pleased for Webber. Actually forgot it was on with the cricket AND Le Tour, but love the bloke (because I used to live in Queanbeyan ok?). Just a pro, who's up til now been consistently in the wrong place at the wrong time, but has always looked like he'd do well in a competitive car...
