What is an acceptable, or even good, strike rate for batsmen in ODIs?

Nah, because you'd expect any batsman to accelerate as their innings progress. They might be striking at 60 by the time they get to 30, but then you'd expect them to score at 90/100 for the rest of their innings. Your applying an average rate and saying it should apply in extreme Individual...

What is an acceptable, or even good, strike rate for batsmen in ODIs?

Mid to high 70s is perfectly acceptable, especially when coupled with an average in the mid 30s or higher. The best batsmen will have rates in the mid 80s and a similar average. The very best will be past ninety.

    UDRS in ODIs

If we're having one in tests, stupid not to have it in ODIs. In keeping with the ethos of Twenty20, in the event of a contested decision in that format the opposing captains will simply have a dick fight mid pitch to entertain the crowds.

+1 to Alan Legend. Clarke has had some poor patches in ODIs, but to slam him for yesterdays innings is ridiculous.

lol at Inbox's efforts. He is nothing if not predictable. Except maybe dire.

    *Official* Pakistan in Australia

Jeez Pakistan are horrible to watch in the field, nay, doing anything other than simply bat or bowl the ball. They have some talented bowlers, but there's a limit to how many dropped catches, fumbles, overthrows and general brainless headless chicken moments you can watch in the field. And for...

Amazing that there were three brilliant catches in one innings. Hauritz's was great, White's was much much better again, and Ponting's in another league again.

Yeah, also gotta wonder why Channel Nine didn't show a hotspot replay of that incident to resolve the question for sure. **** direction.

    Sweeping changes ahead for Austalia.

Yeah, baffled as to why you'd want to change the Big Bash, when it's just been such a roaring success.

Awesome performance from the Aussies tonight. I missed most of the Brissy ODI with a power-outage, but enjoyed watching tonight. I'm starting a campaign to get Cam White into the top six in the test team, and I don't care that his FC record doesn't justify it, nor that ability in ODIs often...

Pak Players ignored by IPL - this is how democracy works

Sanz in "cynically using the Mumbai tragedy as an excuse to spout bile at Pakistanis in general" shocker.

Nah, Aussies were pretty damn good apart from one day in Sydney. Totally deserved the 3-0.

Plus that same time is during people's holidays. They could have the Hobart test on this week ecery year and it wouldn't change the fact that people have to work.

Lol. Match will be over before lunch tomorrow. Pakistani openers to break their legs tripping over each other while attempting a mid pitch conference.

Best new ball pair late 90's/early 00's

Specified time frame = Donald and Pollock, ahead of McGrath and Gillespie. Curtley and Courtney and Wasim and Waqar were just a bit past their prime in comparison.
