*Official* Pakistan v South Africa in UAE

They usually are, not? I mean, how many Tests have we seen where, even in hindsight, the declaration was obviously too late? IMHO, commentators, spectators and cricket debaters bring up the issue of declaration way before any decent captain would think of it.

Hmmm, never really seen that, but I must admit I probably wouldn't notice. I do keep a pack of cigarettes in my pocket (I know, that's really bad), but even during the wildest of fielding actions, they don't fall out.

Well, that clears things up. It really does baffle me.... Why on earth would cricket pants have pockets with zippers? Thta really makes no sense at all, unless one intends to tamper with the ball in advance.

I couldn't see a zipper reither. My cricket pants don't have no zipper. And most certainly not on the pockets..... To me, it really sounds like a bucket full of crap...... A zipper on the side pocket of cricket throusers? Made me smile.... As a teacher I see quite some tests with exactly...

    World T20 Qualifiers

Without being optimistic or chauvinistic, I do think The Netherlands are ahead of Scotland..... Quite a bit actually. Ireland are by far and large the best associate cricket nation. Far ahead of all others. I guess Afghanisatn is #2, but not too far ahead of NL.

Because he is a cricket mercenary. He simply has paid duties anywhere else. He will play if we qualify, I reckon.

MCG advice on not baking in the sun.

Also, when getting through immigration services at the airport, and an officer asks whether you have a criminal record, don't try to be smart by asking you still need one to get in......

And why on earth would one tamper with a ball, when all you need is to roll up the Pakistan tail with 7 sessions left, 350 odd ahead, and an innings to bat if necessary....

Lara v Tendulkar ................. at fielding

Lara took more than twice as many catches per Test, compared to Tendulkar. I won't argue you can simply judge the fielding capacity of a player by number of catches, but more than twice as many...., that seals it, not?

***Official*** Australia in India 2013 Short formats

Though I sense a joke here, I think you are actually spot on, considering how Sharma is judged and/or viewed by many. When he does well, it is poor batting; when he is hit for a few, it is his poor bowling. I, for one, think Ishant cops a lot of unfair criticism. Maybe his situation should be...

What about an umpire that understands that ball was nowhere near the stumps. If can see it, while sipping a beer, form a few thousand miles distance, why can't he?

For once he would have been right to do so...... That was a crap decision.....

That would have been great to watch! This will simply turn out to be an easy win for Pak, despite the early wickets.

What does it tell us when The Aussies will end up with 40 overs of pace bowling and only 10 overs of spin? Bailey has a few options, but so far Doherty has 9, Voges has 1 and Maxwell has had none.

Normally a stiff task on a day 5 afternoon pitch. But the pitch is still quite flat, not?

    Best ever sub 100 innings

When the Ashes were at stake! Yet, Giles kept his best Test innings ever for the Test after it. At none other moment than the Ashes being at stake once more. When Giles got in at the Oval, England were 199/7. I really had the feeling that Shane Warne, arguably in the form of his life, would...

Not walking when you nick it? That's cheating!

Michael Clarke reviewed one he had clearly nicked. One would think he would only have reviewed it, if he was pretty damn sure he didn't nick it! Makes one wonder....

Not walking when you nick it? That's cheating!

So says Mark Nicholas in an article on cricinfo In my own cricket league, which is the furthest away form top level cricket imaginable, there is a pretty fair understanding that the batsman knows better than the (inexperienced) umpire anyway. So we simply go by the batsman's decision. Hardly...

Pakistan need over 200 with 8 wickets. Zim really have a chance here! Would be great for cricket if they pull it off.
