Yay Webber! Living the dream at the moment. Geez Schumacher isn't getting any classier as he gets older. Always been a ****, and looks set on staying that way. ****hole.

Will Shaun Marsh be better than his father for Australia?

Keep Watson as an opener and drop Katich to 3 if you're really worried about LH-RH partnerships. They're always strictly a bonus to me, not a reason to not select the best players. Besides L, L, R, R worked pretty well in the years of Hayden, Langer, Ponting and M. Waugh/Martyn! Watson is a...

Nah, when have we beaten them in September in recent memory? They give me the heeby-jeebies...

Watching Geelong, I wasn't bored, I was awed. Was going to come on here after the end of today's match and be bullish about us going out and smashing the Cats next week given our form over the past month, but Geelong are still very much the class of the field IMO.

Will Shaun Marsh be better than his father for Australia?

Next middle order batsmen to get a go should be Smith and White IMO, maybe Khawaja. I'd like to see post-Ashes, barring any dramatic form reversals a batting line up of: Katich Hughes Watson Clarke White Smith I reckon Ricky should go at the end of the Ashes, when people are still saying "why...

Ooh, that was as biting as Marc Murphy's ball movement today.

Looking like a pretty good call three months down the track. Pity we missed the chance to put your percentage into double figures in the last quarter but can't have everything I suppose.

No wonder Bombers fans are reaching for the razor blades and getting ready to lynch Knights. It's one thing being abjectly **** week after week, it's another thing entirely to be abjectly **** week after week EXCEPT for when you play last year's Grand Finalists when you come out and belt them...

Last bowling slot in my all-time XI

Yeah, definitely. It's like all these things. When you're already struggling to fit a third dedicated quick in, who out of, for instance, Marshall, Imran and Hadlee do you omit to make room? Wasim definitely comes into it given his batting as well, if the objective is to get a great bowler...

Last bowling slot in my all-time XI

He'd be an awesome fifth bowler bowling in a shock role - his batting would improve when not being bowled for a ton of overs as well. Him and Gilly going together at the crease would also be pretty fun to watch.

Last bowling slot in my all-time XI

I guess another to look at the extra bowler or batsman question is to draw up the two XIs: Hobbs Gavaskar Bradman Tendulkar Richards Sobers Gilchrist Imran Marshall Muralitharan Ambrose/Warne Vs Hobbs Gavaskar Bradman Tendulkar Sobers Gilchrist Imran Hadlee Marshall Warne Murali I think in...

Last bowling slot in my all-time XI

I think Sobers fast-medium/medium-fast stuff was good enough to be the fifth bowler. Would not want him as one of only three quicks though in this scenario. Don't think Imran's batting is good enough for #6 in an all time team, #7 would be ok.

Last bowling slot in my all-time XI

Re Barnes - Wickets per match, and the pretty much universal opinion of those who saw all those guys bowl. Re Wasim - true, and worth thinking about if I am swapping Warne for Murali.

Last bowling slot in my all-time XI

Especially when you're weighing up whether that sixth bowling option adds more to the team than a Sachin Tendulkar or Viv Richards!

Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

I wasn't pissed, just surprised. And I asked the question whether there had been a backlash based on that surprise, not cos I otherwise thought there was some conspiracy. Obviously Wasim is a gun, and I was unaware of his work on Indian tv as well. Sometimes a cave is just a cave, and...
