**Official** Pakistan v New Zealand in the UAE 2014

They really should get a lot. There are enough players in the top 7 who know how to score big. But they'll need to be in better form than their bowling and fielding suggested.... Craig got a few to turn quite appreciably in his last spell with a knackered ball, I think the spinners will be a...

One of those where Hawkeye just looks like it got it wrong - no way that hit outside off...

Would have been amusing if Chris Pringle had been appointed as consultant for the tour....

**Official** Pakistan v New Zealand in the UAE 2014

New hope - Pakistan's numbers 3 an 4 are unused to coming in at 100-odd for 1 or 2, will be confused and easily dismissed.

**Official** Pakistan v New Zealand in the UAE 2014

Truly shocking news here - NZ will bowl 15 overs in the first hour of a test match.....

And bounce... but their spinners are better than ours, so this probably isn't good news...

**Official** Pakistan v New Zealand in the UAE 2014

Got to bowl some maidens at the openers - I figure three or four in a row and they'll do something silly. How to get Azhar, Younis, and Misbah on this wicket is another story of course...

    **Official** Zimbabwe in Bangladesh 2014

I was very surprised to see him in the side - Mutumbami had looked a decent player in the last few tests before this series.

    Hmm... Pakistan already have enough?

Yep, safe to say he will forever be known as "the other Imran Khan"

*Official* Pakistan v Australia in UAE 2014

Maxwell and Marsh bowling in tandem... living the dream. There should be an asterisk beside Younis Khan's final test stats if he goes big here...

    Younis Khan

That's a double-edged sword surely... if a number of those wins were innings defeats over muppets against quality spin or demon pace (I'm thinking you, New Zealand) then his runs were helpful but hardly crucial. Meanwhile presumably he has a pretty woeful average in matches Pakistan lost, when...

    **Official** Zimbabwe in Bangladesh 2014

A few certainly did a lot. Shakib got Chakabva with a length ball that hit the batsman's gloves practically in front of his nose. But I agree with Maximas - I'll take this over the usual low slow tracks. Even the seamers got a little zip off the pitch from time to time.

So, judging from the lack of comments, no-one watching this huh? Taylor to score a lot of runs in the next month....

    Jonbrooks chucking Megathread

No real excuse for the original post, but as a kiwi he's probably spent his whole cricketing life listening to Bryan Waddle's close-minded "I know what I see and no science will make me think otherwise" views on the radio repeated ad infinitum, so getting some balance isn't easy....

    Sheep like Draft on Speed

Just found this thread. Amusing that someone got Sobers in the first draft and no-one picked Kallis. Did everyone just forgot, or did they assume they'd be blocked (and didn't want to do the blocking themselves...)? Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Javed and Lillee were also notable survivors into the...

*Official* Pakistan v Australia in UAE 2014

I'd argue that the Windies have enough talented players who can do something ridiculously good on the day that they will always have a chance in a tournament format. Not consistent enough to win it probably but they can certainly surprise one of the favourites. And though I wouldn't be at all...

    West Indies Forgotten Fast Man

My Dad was a keen county cricket watcher through the 60's and 70's and used to wax lyrical about the fielding exploits of the West Indians on the circuit, especially Sobers, Lloyd and Boyce.
