Sehwag up there with Bradman in his ability to score quickly - Ian Chappell

You left out the clause after hit ball - "away from fielder"

Sehwag up there with Bradman in his ability to score quickly - Ian Chappell

The strike and economy rates of bowlers of the era might tell a tale in terms of the scoring. I think even 58 was quite exceptional for the day, especially given he was averaging 100 at the same time. And that's what Chappell has accurately pointed out re Sehwag's recent achievements - it's...

    A.F.L. Thread II

Yeah, GC working off a different basis to everyone else in terms of what their list is like and the money they have, so there will be some players who do much better than was otherwise likely.

Broad cops up a bit of trouble.

I wasn't giving anyone a specific warning, just pointing out that it was preferable to keep the thread constructive and that a few posts were moving away from that. I'd rather say something mild early than have to hand out warnings/bans later on. But agree with Slowfinger, it's all good, let's...

    Greatest cricketers since 1980

Not if you were batting at 3 as well. Always a trap to assume that making bowling changes, field placings, and declarations is all there is to being a captain, or even that any of those things are as easy as they appear from an armchair in front of the tv.

    Greatest cricketers since 1980

I think Ponting has Sachin and Lara cold in captaincy terms, particularly Lara. I think giving either of the latter two a "B" is very generous. Ricky's personal performance never deteriorated when captain, he's been a strong captain for a long time and he (obviously with a good team) has won a...

    Greatest cricketers since 1980

Reckon Ponting's captaincy does enhance his record a bit, but not anywhere near enough to bridge the gap between him and Murali. Marking him down as player for his captaincy record is very much wrong in my view though.

That's enough (re streetwise) HB. :)

Broad cops up a bit of trouble.

Get that people are annoyed about this, but a couple of posts including the one above are skating pretty close to inappropriate (plus exaggerating slightly possibly). By all means be narked off but the abuse serves no purpose guys.

    Greatest cricketers since 1980

People are entitled to disagree with you Streetwise. It's hardly trashing the thread given that's where to conversation has taken us. Chill. :) I think we have got a bit bogged down in Ponting's captaincy as a criteria for assessing his greatness. His record as captain is better than any of...

Looking back on that incident, I just can't believe I used "through" when I meant "throw"

    The Tactics of Powerplays

Scrap them - a pointless gimic that's added nothing to the game. That said, my proposal would be to have fielding restrictions in place for the entire innings, if there were to be a change.

    CA and BCCI, explain yourselves

I think they'll go hard at first, then be very very conservative for the last five or so overs of the first innings to try and keep wickets in hand for the restart. Just a daft concept. Part of its benefit is meant to be in that in the event of a mismatch, you avoid the scenario where the team...

Broad cops up a bit of trouble.

I'm a bit confused - are they actually saying that the injury occurred when Broad threw the ball at him? It said that it might have been worsed when it hit him, but broken fingers aren't exactly uncommon for keepers. (Not defending Broad at all, just a bit confused by some unclear, imo, reporting).

    Problems logging in?

Meh, it's the only problem I have with it. Otherwise it does what I want and is supported with a good app store and is very simple to use, so yeah, I would buy the next one if that keeps up.

    Problems logging in?

You laugh, if an antenna like that was available, could be attached and detached by screwing it in, and gave you double the reception, I'd buy it.

Where to now for Kenyan cricket?

Reckon it's gone personally, will be a historical curiosity in years to come.

    CA and BCCI, explain yourselves

I was firmly against the UDRS until I saw it in action. Am a fan now. Ok, there can be mistakes made under it, but less mistakes than the current system. Does it really matter if the new system isn't perfect if it is demonstrably better than the old one?
