Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

I meant no-one has anything more to say about Geraint Jones. So what's the big deal discussing something else?

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

No, he's always been good and he suffered a rare slump in 2003, that's it.

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

I think maybe he said his average is 73.58 not counting the 2003 season...

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

That one year's slump because of which he's past his prime..... And immediately in the next year he's back! Umm no, not for some people yet.

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

He appeared more effective 3 or 4 years ago because then he was virtually the one man army of the Indian batting. All the bowlers would target him and if he was gone, the rest would follow without a fight. That's why he had such a huge effect. Now he's just changed his role and his game, he's...

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

Yeah but after his poor performance in New Zealand and a year later in Australia pre-Sydney people started writing him off. He's shut up his critics by breaking Sobers record, just like he's had to all his career. It was just a short slump, but he's at it again now.

I find him really funny. His grammar is horrendous.

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

5 years in 15 is small. And he's adapted his role to the team's requirements beautifully. Vishnu has answered this adequately in his post.

Things couldn't possibly get worse than this... er, knock on wood...

The indians just played the attack they were put up against. They may have done just as well against McGrath and Warne, given McGrath's uninspiring return and well we've never really had too many porblems with Warne.

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

Todays cricketers have their own difficulties. There's so much international cricket. These guys have to be so professional and so fit. In those times during international tours after a days play they would go around town, today there's a tough regime, nets before play, warm downs after. You...

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

I think it was more a slump. His recent scores since Sydney show that.

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

And you just can't find fault with his record. Massive Zebra, If you think he's got all those runs and hundreds just because he's been able to play the no. of matches he has and others would have certainly done better than him, you're downright foolish. It's very very commendable the consistency...

Will Geriant Jones become the new Gilchrist?

ODI runs don't have relevence in an all time Test XI, but I just pointed it out for the sheer weight of runs and hundreds at international level. He is a certain pick for me, and in this I too am not alone. And for me he's a notch above the one's you pointed out as likely to replace him -...
